According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in the first half of 2016, although the export value to ASEAN slightly declined year-on-year, it still surpassed Africa and Latin America in terms of scale, becoming the largest market for China's construction machinery exports.

 

From the export situation of segmented engineering machinery products in the first half of the year, excavator products were mainly exported to Thailand and the Philippines, followed by the United States and India; Loaders are mainly exported to Türkiye, Russia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Indonesia; Bulldozers are mainly exported to Russia and the Philippines; Road rollers are mainly exported to the United States, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines; Engineering cranes are mainly exported to Vietnam, Venezuela, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and the Philippines; Tower cranes are mainly sold to South Korea, Vietnam, and Malaysia; Forklifts are mainly from the United States, Australia, Thailand, South Korea and Türkiye; Concrete machinery mainly goes to Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia; The tunnel boring machine is mainly exported to Singapore.

 

As can be seen from the above, almost all of the major export markets for each type of segmented product of construction machinery are ASEAN countries, with the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and other five countries being the most prominent.

2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between China and ASEAN. The 13th China ASEAN Expo, scheduled to be held in mid September this year, will be themed "Building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and Building a Closer China ASEAN Community with a Shared Future", and will focus on promoting China ASEAN production capacity cooperation and creating a China ASEAN cross-border e-commerce platform for in-depth discussions.

 

Myanmar, as well as countries such as Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, have a high demand for small construction machinery. At the same time, Myanmar has abundant mineral resources and has a good potential market for the demand for construction machinery. According to the survey, since last year, the demand for construction machinery in infrastructure construction, agricultural construction, construction engineering, and mining engineering in Myanmar has continued to increase.

 

In the future, with the further deepening of economic cooperation between China and ASEAN, the Chinese construction machinery industry will surely usher in a broader market space in ASEAN.
